Tripp, please tell me you had some money on that game, because that's pretty damn impressive. :D

The pickups of PJ Brown and Sam Cassell have turned up roses for the Celts. Tonight was another game they probably would've lost if not for those two.

I would say they would have lost if they didn't have Pierce or Garnett. But hey, Brown and Cassell are the two stars of the team.

No, unfortunately no bets. I'm hoping that my accuracy pays off by the end of Game 6. ;)

Well, of course, but Brown and Cassell's contributions were critical, especially when Pierce and Perkins were in the locker room.

But Allen scoring nine points in that span didn't mean more than Cassell's two? I am lost here. Was it their intensity?

I would like to personally thanks Kevin Garnett for attempting to assert himself in the final 120 seconds of this game.

Garnett, a man infamous for playing all 48 minutes the same way and not demanding for the ball in the final moments, called for the ball and took advantage of the mismatch when Radmo was switched on him, not to mention the two-hand teabagging of Pau Gasol on the follow dunk.

Finally, Garnett asserted himself in the closing moments of a big game.

With his team already up by multiple scores. At home.

It's a long series, though. Baby steps.

You're absolutely right. Like you said, baby steps.

Man, the guy really can't catch a break. Should we blame him for playing well enough the first 46 minutes to not need to sweat out the final 2 minutes, too? If anything he was too aggressive last night because he didn't shoot well, but he did shoot often, in the fourth quarter.

That put-back that he smashed in Gasol's face probably counts as a baby step at least.

Yeah, what was up with band aid? Not like he cut himself shaving there. A monster zit, perhaps?

And during the pre-game when they were running the compare of Red and Phil Jackson, I thought I heard him say that Auerbach would be watching, in a way that implied, well, Red didn't die two years ago.
    During the pre-game
