I didn't watch the game. Like I said I don't agree that the rules should change at the end of the game. I'm certainly not defending NBA officiating. Watching an NBA game is like watching a slightly different sport than I've played my whole life. Calls that don't exist at any other level are called there -- and I'm not talking about stuff like defensive three seconds, but the actual way fouls are called.

All I saw was the replay of the Kirilenko-Scola play and that was a foul.

Well I'm sure Paul will get his, but I took eat up to mean dominate the matchup. I don't see Paul locking Parker down at the other end either.

Boston columnists have to be thanking Mike Bibby for writing their lede for them after his comments about the Boston fans.

Garnett just got awarded the Defensive Player of the Year award, and in Euruzione (sp?) fashion invited his teammates to come out and join him at center court.

That isn't entirely true. He'll never be an All-Defensive guy, but he's better than folks give him credit for.

He's been decent on Nash in this series, and I can recall a game earlier this year where he chased Iverson pretty good.

He's not Bruce Bowen, but he's not Steve Nash, either.

Like Ruben Patterson, all bluster and BS, and not even half the player Bryant is.

    I'm fine with that, too.

I will add that I don't think officials should call *nothing* at the end of games. I probably wouldn't have called that on Scola at any point in the game. It's the kind of jostling that happens on every possession. This time, AK sold it, and the refs bought it.

    But anyway ...

Just wondering, since when did Mike Bibby start sucking? I was amazed Atlanta was able to get him for so little in that trade, but now I'm not that surprised. He's 29 going on 40. No explosiveness, jumper doesn't look smooth. For a guy that used to be reasonably clutch, he really has not backed up his trash talk following Game 1. I'm just wondering if this is a recent development or if he's just always been a little overrated.

Bibby had a terrible night...a lot of credit has to go to Rondo, who is quickly becoming a premier defensive PG. Notice how Bibby tried to get a bigger man to take him on, like Perkins, during most of the first half...Rajon was simply not letting him get good looks.

Has Bibby lost a step? I don't watch many of his games, but looking at his stats I'd say yes. He missed half of this season so it's hard to really say anything definitive about this year. But last year when he played every game, his shooting percentage was barely 40% and he used to hit 45% on a regular basis. He also recorded a career low in assists in '06-'07. Although he's played decent for Atlanta, he has not been a star by any means...he should be playing some of the best basketball of his career at his age but you could make a good case that his finest statistical season was way back with the Grizzlies.

One post ... can we get one post freakin post without the greatness of the Celtics (or a specific Celtic) being touted?

Yeah, Bibby's been looking washed up at least all of this year, I seem to remember thinking he looked washed up last year too, but the memory banks aren't that clear that far back.

At least, no where near a top-flight point guard.

Uh, did you watch the game? Everything I said was correct.
