I'm sure the World Series one will top it.

Then the Super Bowl one will top that.

Then the '09 NBA Finals one will top that.

How about the 08 Post season Bull Pen cap?
It looks like the NBA Champions part is in Lakers Purple. Hat company must have been hedging their bet. Perhaps Celtics logo is a peel off

Seen you say that before.. how are they mercenaries? Guys like Malone and Payton (or Cassell and Brown) who try to hitch on at the end of the careers for a championship run can be called mercenaries. The Celtics have six players remaining from last year's roster. The C's got Allen for two players and Jeff Green and Garnett for five players and two first round draft picks. These guys weren't brought in because the C's paid them... they had to make two mega-trades to get them here and they did. Just about any other team in the NBA could have done the same.

The Packers SB hats from '96 have always stuck out in mind. It was in New Orleans and I think there were musical notes and other such hideous designs.

    Wow, SIX whole players?

    Impressive.

Garnett and Allen have each been in the league more than a decade. They were traded to Boston for a championship run. They're mercenaries, with no longterm emotional ties to that great franchise.

And in the matter o trades: it's incorrect that "Any team could have done the same." You need assets to trade.

Congratulations Celtic fans. You definitely deserved the title. Thanks for the spirited debates and just know they were all meant in good fun. Wish I could've taunted you guys more. Just wasn't in the cards.
    Enjoy your title. :)

You really don't think other teams in the league could have put together comparable packages?

Six whole players? Umm, that's not a lot out of 15, particularly when two of them are Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine.

They may not have emotional ties that run deep, but to say imply they jumped on for a championship run is foolish. The Celtics won 24 games last year, hell of a ship to jump onto. Plus, Allen had no say in his deal. And even though Garnett warmed to the idea of coming to Boston after Allen did, it wasn't like he could just sign on.

Thanks, man. Apologies for the tiff a few pages back. I wouldn't be shocked by a rematch next year.

I clearly think a rematch is probable at this point -- but with Andrew Byrum (sp?) coming back, I don't know, I have to think the Lakers win next year.

Seems easy to think of a Boston-LA rematch in the Finals next year, but then again, who at this point last June would've pictured Celtics standing on the podium tonight collecting the trophy?

You think Bynum will make that much of a difference if all else stays the same?

I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong ... but I do wonder if he has enough of a resume to this point to make him the X-factor.
