No matter what happens the rest of this series (and I fully expect the Celtics to win the next two games), Boston's aura of invincibility has definitely taken a big hit.

At the only Hawks fanboi ... in, uh, maybe existence, all I can say is wow. I thought they might get one. Never thought the series would go to six (at least).

As someone else who posted on this thread consistently, Tripp, we all said all year long that until this team proves it in the postseason ... then its nothing.

Garnett's single playoff run was also on a team with two veterans who had been to the Finals in Sprewell and Cassell. This Celtics team has a good run in it based on seeding and the talent of its big three and Rajon Rondo, who is on the verge of becoming an elite point guard, perhaps a Hall of Famer.

There have been many champions who had some issues in the conference playoffs. But it is interesting to see a below-.500 team push the team with the best record like this.

Also: If they do not win the title, does Garnett's career of eye-popping stats, deferring in the clutch, and sporadic playoff success mean his retirement will bring similar reactions to Webber's?

Wow, tough question Piotr ... I'd hate to make the comparison because I've always been big on Garnett ... but if he can't get it done with this team, then I don't know how you can't.

I believe Walker had already begun his descent into a big man that shot as many 3-pointers as was humanly possible, so while Walker was there, that was more of Pierce's team.

    I can agree with that.

Yeah that'd be fair to call that group Pierce's team ... He averaged 25 or 26 per game that season. It wasn't a bad year for Walker though -- 22, 9 and 5

Boston-ATL has become a good series...the rivalry beginning between the two teams is apparent. One game after Josh Smith has a career game, Joe Johnson does the same for the Hawks. Even though the PA announcer is absolutely terrible, the Atlanta crowds have been surprisingly good as well.

Were the 2 others who voted for the Hawks to win it all serial or just demented like me?

Is it safe to assume Pau Gasol will soon be filming a Geico commercial?
