These straight out of HS ball players have etched their names all over the NBA playoffs.

Anybody else find it amusing that the two teams that were supposedly "head and shoulders" above the rest of the East - Boston and Detroit - are both struggling with sub-.500 teams, while Orlando has already closed out its series in 5 and Cleveland can do the same Wednesday?

I really hope Acie Law develops into a solid point guard in the next couple of years. If he can do that and the Hawks can keep the nucleus of Johnson, Smith, Horford and Williams, they will be good and fun to watch for a long time.

I just couldn't get past the thought of Rajon Rondo, future Hall of Famer

  5. Pierce averaged 24 in the playoffs that year, Walker 22.

Fairly close, so I wouldn't say Pierce took them to the conference finals.

Lakers win and sweep the Nuggets.
Nuggets could've won this game if they played A LITTLE DEFENSE. I know Kobe is clutch and all, but damn, show some heart.

  7. You realize you're talking about the Nuggets, right?

Kenyon Martin was practically in Kobe's jersey on one play and Bryant barely moved the net on the shot. No. 24 was huge in the fourth quarter and showed why he's deserving of MVP, hitting every big FG the Lakers needed to close things out.
It's nice to get a few days rest cuz the Lakers are still a banged up team.

The Lakers are the first team to sweep a 50-win team in the playoffs.

How would Golden State have fared against LA in this series? I'm not saying the Warriors would've pulled another 8-over-1 series upset, but they HAD to have put up more than a fight than this, right?

I don't think they would've been swept. LA would've won it in 5 or 6. Both the Nuggets and Warriors are similar in that they dont play D and they run n gun offense. The difference is that the Warriors have a lot of shooters. Nuggets have a whole bunch of one on one, driving to the basket type of players.

P.S. The other factor is the homecourt advantage the Warriors have at that arena.

Am I wrong that I put george Karl as an NBA coach in the same category as a Bill Fitch? Nice coach, solid coach, keeps getting jobs, has never won a damn thing.

  12. Didn't Fitch win a title with the Celtics?
