What, no one want to talk about the Jazz beating the Lakers tonight? :D

Welcome back, RokSki, man of no NBA team who enjoys ripping the Lakers.

Yeah, they lost. Kobe haters, engage in your circle jerk. It's a seven-game series.

Piotr: duplicate my non-comment from last night. I don't like the Jazz any more than the Spurs.

PIOTR - there's your second shout out.

Low blow. And in all fairness, I simply wanted to see this thread back on the front page again. Apparently no one posted during the game tonight, which I found hard to believe with the Lakers on TV.

Besides, I did say Kobe deserved the MVP and that the Lakers are the team to beat out West before the playoffs began. How much could I hate a team with comments like that?

I was too busy lamenting Odom's refusal to guard Boozer.

Sorry, Oz. You took the brunt of my pissed-off Laker dork attitude. It's because people see them as the team to beat that this fanboy grips at their every loss.

If it makes you feel better Piotr, I'm rooking for the Lakers in a series for possibly the first time ever. Although, my editor, who's a big Lakers fan, told me to stop, seeing as how well my rooting is doing for the Cavs.

Gotta love Big Ben. We all know I'll take any chance I can to slam him -- and here's a chance. Sitting out most of Game 2 and now apparently all of Game 3 with an ear infection.
Put some drops in that bitch and go find that nutsack you lost when you sold out two years ago.

On a non-playoff note -- D'Antoni has officially accepted the Knicks job.
I don't see this ending very well, but with Zeke out of the picture -- who knows.

Well now we know how much D'Antoni's soul costs. Why on earth would anyone take that job right now, particularly a coach who had his choice of every opening?

It's not like the Knicks job is traditionally a bad gig ... Thomas just made it a joke over the last several years. I think Walsh is solid in the front office and they should be able to start turning things around. But that said, D'Antoni's style of basketball didn't, isn't and never will win in the NBA. You cannot refuse to play defense and simply rely on jumpshooters and the hope that you'll just outlast people on the scoreboard. It won't ever work unless the league decides to make rule changes to allow it (which would come as no surprise to anyone).

D'Antoni saw the writing on the wall in Phoenix. The trade for Shaq was possibly one of the dumbest moves of the season given that team's style of play. It was only eclipsed by Mark Cuban's fellatio-laden Jason Kidd deal.

Good news for D'Antoni is that the Knicks can't possibly get any worse. Right?

I'm only saying it based on the personnel in place. How is the NY job more desirable than the Chicago job if it isn't about money. If he couldn't work his system with Shaq how the hell will it work with Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry? Or how about Marbury, Robinson or Crawford playing the role of unselfish PG. I mean come on, this is an inexplicable move.
