The butter's getting hard and the J-ELLO's giggling, Boobie.

I know people who only see games here and there think us Bostonians are too crazy for Rondo. He's definitely inconsistent, but he's only a second year guy. Again, I'll go back to the Tony Parker comparison. He has shown flashes though that he could be an absolute stud.

I'd expect Billups to step it up and be more aggressive in G2, Rube.

Fixed to reflect that Rah-weed has more than one way of accomplishing that.

Oh I'd expect the same thing, I'd actually expect the whole team to come out with a lot more energy ... also, both teams got absolutely nothing from their respective benches tonight -- that's going to play a role eventually.
And I've watched Rondo for the past two months or so, and the more I see him the more I like him. I know he's been talked about at incredible length on here, but you have to like a guy who plays extremely fast but under control -- like Parker. Very active hands, doesn't panic and seems to just have a great feel for things. Doc Rivers should've been institutionalized for that Cassell shit earlier in the playoffs -- that was pure panic on his part and not showing any confidence in the guy who helped get him here. But I think that's fixed, Rondo's a guy who has to be on the floor when the game's on the line for Boston to win.

Best thing about the C's dragging out those first two series: this one will be played every other night. I can't stand the extraneous days off the NBA loves to add in.

I understand it, Boobie. Plus, Rondo just devoured Billups. 11 and 7 with 5 steals? Not bad for a guy in his first conference finals facing the player who's supposed to be the best PG in the East.

Agreed on the Rivers part. He's lucky that he didn't kill Rondo's confidence with all that crap. He's young. He can play 40 minutes a night. He really needs to against the Pistons because my hearts in my throat anytime House tries to bring the ball up against Hunter.

Yeah, I thought a technical foul was kind of implied, but it's simply shocking how much shit the refs let Sheed get away with, a virtual buzzer-to-buzzer monologue of screeching profanity -- it's possible he could punt the ball into the rafters and not get teed up -- I've seen him wind up and SLAM the ball to the floor so that it bounces higher than the shot clock, and the refs let it go.  (This of course is the same guy who continually accuses Stern and the league office of racism.)

If I reffed in the NBA, Sheed would get teed up every goddamn time he came down the court. Shut the fuck up and play basketball, willya??

Here's another popular theory I think is overstated (and I think you'll disagree with Rube): rest is overrated. If you're banged up, like Billups, then time off is probably good. But you're never playing a back to back and once you get the juices flowing I think I'd rather ride it out than have to wait around.

Huge win for Boston here ... great job by the staff and everyone else by turning it around so quickly and coming out on all cylinders. I do think that if this thing goes seven, the length of those first two series will start to show with the C's. But not tonight, Detroit acted like this was a game in mid-November and Boston took it for what it actually was. I think G2 will be much more competitive, but hey, Boston's tough as shit at home -- I'll give them that, I wasn't really drinking that Kool-Aid before even with the great record. But I am now, they're lights out in that place. That said, I still think Detroit gets one there before this is done.

Starman, if you were a ref in the NBA, you'd be beaten to death by a player three games into the season.

Oh in the short-term, yes, rest is vastly overrated. But like I said before, if it drags on a bit -- that's when the rest factor might creep in. But then again, we're so far deep into the season that it might not matter much at all.
