McDyess has been a bigger factor than I expected though. Those 15-footers are automatic.

Ray Allen finally gets it going a bit and now he's forced to the bench with his fifth foul. The Celtics look dangerously close to getting back into "go for mine" offense though so maybe it's not the worst thing to get Allen out because he looked like he was going to shoot it every time he touched the ball. Not a good time to bring in House, Doc.

I actually wouldn't bench Allen for too long. The reward of him finally getting into a rhythm is greater than the risk of him fouling out. If he fouls out, so be it you go to Posey or House. But if you keep him in (and he's not going to be banging on the blocks) he might provide a real boost to the offense. But if you put him on the bench you're going to be playing one of the other guys and then risking that Allen won't pick up where he left off.

Van Gundy is great. He was saying that as I was typing it.

So much for 66-64 Rube. C's need to pick up the D.

I've stayed off this thread because I get pretty fanboi-ish in the playoffs, but Stuckey is a baller. If he can be the Vinnie Johnson-type for the Pistons throughout this series, the Pistons will win. He is the so-called x-factor. He also helps bail Dumars out of the Darko fiasco.

Oh shit. Did Ray Allen just dunk on Theo Ratliff? What is this, 2002?

Stuckey is the real deal, that's for sure.

And it's funny to see Allen dunk. He does it every once in a while but you forget he can do it because he never plays around the hoop.

I think the D-Wade comparisons are a bit absurd, but yeah, Stuckey's the real deal as far as scoring two guards go.
And we're back to a one possession game, a BIGGGG five minutes here.

No matter the outcome of this game, and believe that's the biggest thing because this will be HUGE in the outcome of this series, but C's can at least rest assured that Allen is officially back. The biggest thing was the mental block and he's clearly past that, now it's just back to making shots which has never really been a problem for him. He was just too in his own head the past few games.

Will the C's be able to win on the road? Now it looks like they'll have to.

I think everyone expected Detroit to take one in Boston. The big question is can the Celtics get one in Detroit? I believe they can, but I also believed they'd take one in Atlanta and Cleveland.

    It's cuz I like Boobies. :)
(I honestly have no idea why I quoted you, either. I'm having a nice little laugh at it now, too.)

    It's all good.

I was just, you know, watching a little bit, you know, of the Pistons press conference. I'm guessing, you know, that Detroit writers, you know, have to clean up, you know, Rip Hamilton's quotes a bit, you know, because he has a little bit, you know of a verbal tick that, you know, would make the copy very choppy to read.
