Just to note that even in a league where deals are made based on payroll, this Memphis-Cleveland deal was the most payroll-iest of them all. For Memphis, that is:

Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington and Josh Selby, and a future first-round draft pick to the Cavs for Jon Leuer. Sheds $6 million in payroll and gets Memphis under the luxury tax, what with $50 million committed for Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. For this year, it guts their bench for a player who has appeared in 55 games over two seasons.

On the court, the Warriors beat the Clippers and OKC in a span of three days. Since I don't have a favorite team, I usually pick the most fun one to watch throughout the year. This year that team is Golden State, narrowly edging out the Nuggets who have an impressive record despite a ridiculously tough schedule to this point of the season. Curry has been my favorite player to watch since Davidson's run through the NCAA tourney and I'm hoping he's able to stay healthy the rest of the year.

Welcome D!! Unlike the Nellie Warriors (2007 We Believe team being the exception) who tried to small-ball and outscore their way to wins, this team is actually a team that pays attention to defense and rebounding and is gritty. They are still a fairly small team without Bogut (fingers crossed) but they play hard on both ends. I really had my doubts about Jackson last year because it looked like the Ws were going to be just more of the same, small ball while getting hammered on the glass. Actually looks like MJax is on to something here.

The additions of Carl Landry and Jarrett Jack are huge. (Oh yeah, and the subtraction of Monta Ellis; someone who provided great highlights but only played hard on one end.)

I love Curry and David Lee has a very nice assortment of shots in the post. Beating the Heat, Clips and OKC is quite an accomplishment, the W's are not true contenders but are finally on the right path (Jerry West influence?).

    Woj basically destroyed D'Antoni today.

Yeah, that was a complete and utter takedown. That was also the longest article that I can remember from Woj in a while.

Although it's been said, many times, many ways ... the current Lakers would have been a great combination five years ago.

Man oh man, that's how to write a column.

They should have just given Phil the whole franchise as a dowry. But then I guess Jim Buss would have had to go out and get a job.

The game is 15 minutes old, and the Celtics lead the Hawks by 25.

Even if you still can't stand LeBron, you have to admit, this is a pretty cool reaction by him.

And go onto lose in double OT.

And DD, I think you put the wrong link. I clicked on it and got a Ray Lewis video.
