They got lucky Marc turned out to be a go-getter. It's more the continued behavior that's striking.

This Kentucky fan didn't get the memo about his favorite player being traded that day:

Hope he didn't buy the jersey just for that game.

It doesn't make sense to me that Hollinger would have had anything to do with this trade, unless he did the statistical analysis which led to the decision of which of the big three got traded. Though, while Rudy Gay is a nice player, it doesn't take a statistical genius to see that he's No. 3 among himself, Gasol and Randolph. The big danger is making this trade now, rather than waiting til the offseason, is that you cement the image among Grizzlies fans that this team will never do what it takes to go for a title. Not that they were going to get past OKC, but if the team isn't going to try, why should fans bother?

This must be some sort of record for most minor league assignments in one season -- the Pacers have assigned Miles Plumlee to the D-League Fort Wayne Mad Ants for the SEVENTH time this season. So far, he's played 11 games with Fort Wayne and seven games with Indiana. At this point, for his benefit, there should be a Plumlee-sized, high-powered pneumatic tube between Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Watching the Clippers-Celtics game and Tommy H. is ranting about the officiating. Is that typical? FYI, the officiating HAS been at NHL level.

Oh, boy. You should hear him during NESN games. Early this season there was a bad call on the C's -- it was pretty horrendous -- and Heinsohn lost it and SCREAMED at the ref. It was bizarro and comedy all at once.

Quite interesting. Coulda swore I heard him say today he "hated" one of the officials named Eli. Gorman quickly chimed in with something like "how about dislike?"

I freely confess the thought came to me that he might be nursing a hangover.

    Oh, yes.

Do a youtube search of Tommy Heinsohn and you'll find several fun rants.
