It's a star's league. They'll throw the insignificant players under the PED bus...but never never never never will an NBA star get nailed. Never.

 

The Clippers are on pace to score 184 points tonight. They scored 46 in the first quarter against the Rockets.

 

How do you think they do that? Do they not test the stars or fix the results? I wouldn't necessarily put it past them, but I'm not sure how they could pull it off. Do the stars know that they're bulletproof? Do the other players know about the 2-tiered system?

 

Sounds to me like Derrick Rose might not play at all this year. He tells the Trib his knee "still isn't feeling right."

Jerry Buss reportedly near death.

Won't get the press that Steinbrenner got after his death, but maybe the best owner in team sports history. With an idiot son left in charge.

When Jerry got pulled over for the DUI at age 74, he had a 23-year-old woman with him, whom he later described as a "friend."

He dies happy.

 

Jack McCallum just tweeted this:

"Jerry Buss's terminal cancer was kept quiet for a while by some reporters, self included. There's a lot of respect for that man."

Why does this have to be on a running thread, I don't get it.

LeBron's streak ends as he had 39 points but shot "only" 58% from the floor. Another dominant game, though, as the Heat swept the season series and are creeping up on the Thunder for 2nd best record behind the Spurs.
