The Mavs blew a 25-point lead in Memphis. I think they're officially cooked now. They might go 5-20 the rest of the way.

  2. Allen Iverson is BROKE despite making more than $200+ million! I remember reading about this awhile back! Go from that much bread to being unable to pay $860,000 debt for some jewelry? The bank is now selling Iverson's foreclosed home in Atlanta for $2 Mill.. He bought it for $4,5 mill.

How did Allen Iverson Managed To Go Broke? Well, acc to TMZ he spent $10,000/month on clothes, $10,000/month on grocery/house items, $1,000/month on dry cleaning, $5,000/month on entertainment, $5,000/month on restaurants.. this is just the tip of the iceberg i guess.. Not the first time and not the first NBA star who has fallen from grace. I just dont get it, how stupid can you be? That's crazy!.. or is it just BS?

Anyone else see SI's piece on Pacific Northwest (well, it includes the Warriors and Kings, too) pro hoops? Pretty good read.

Can't say I'm shocked, but the numbers do just make me shake my head.

I don't think I ever saw Iverson without an entourage, and for home games a large entourage, including children, presumably his own. Entourages are expensive.

  6. I read this on ae other forum. .... "Its widely known that Allen Iverson has an account that his personal manager set up for him years ago that is worth 30 mil. He gets a yearly income of 1.5 million from that until a sertant age (cant remember what it was). He also as a rookie signed a LIFETIME deal with reebok. Which at this present time they are releasing his retro shoe. A large part of this information is pubic because he just went thru a divorce with his wife. In court sessions everything became public. He actually was trying to seem broke to hide money from ex wife. Also remember Allen left the nba way to soon and not because of injury. So that lets you know he does not hurt for money. All of this information is public".

So this is just a divorce "trick"?.. yeah maybe, who knows..

Took my son, a huge Sixers fan, to see them against the Bulls last night, and he and I congratulated each other for seeing Doug Collins' last game as a coach. Maybe he won't be fired today, but it's coming. The Sixers have all the hallmarks of a lousy team tuning out its coach. They do all the little things that don't show up on the box score -- too much dribbling, lazy passes, lazy shots, no blocking out, forcing plays if they're not hanging back. Joakim Noah had the first triple double of points (23), rebounds (21) and blocks (11) since Shawn Bradley in 1998, and while Noah did play well, the Sixers helped immensely by continuing to drive in his direction and by weakly going after any rebound.

Of course, Collins got no break by Philly going all-in on getting Andrew Bynum, who may or may not have a career-threatening knee condition, depending on who you hear.

Zach Lowe had a good piece on the Sixers the other day: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/52506/doug-collinss-meltdown-and-the-sixers-unraveling-season.

Hawes had 20 and 15 last night, so he wasn't completely useless. However, he was so bad on defense that from my seat in the top of the United Center I could see Boozer or Noah's eyes light up when they saw he was "guarding" them.
