You see a lot these "big" moves in the NBA sub-strata - I get it, you know you can't win with what you've got, might as well not win with a different cast.

Any team make a profit last season? Any anticipate making one this season? Salary cap fell for upcoming season. No smart person has any reason to believe the loss of revenue will be temporary. With a near depression about to start it would serve everyone, in all sports, to be circumspect about contracts for a while. The backlash on whining about contracts is going to be painful.

For all the justifiable talk about Sam Presti loading up on first-round picks and such, people do realize that the Pelicans have bagged seven first-round picks in two deals, not to mention getting Brandon Ingram and some other useful pieces in the Anthony Davis deal?

Thunder and Pelicans should be interesting in this draft and a bunch of drafts in the near future, barring cashing in a lot of picks for a foundation piece and/or climbing in a top-heavy draft.

Had ESPN on in the background. SAS comes on, almost literally screaming.

Pistons acquire F Trevor Ariza and No. 16 pick overall from Rockets for future first-round pick. Pistons now have No. 7 and No. 16
Ariza on third team in two days and he might not be done traveling

Dammit. Father Time, there's no defense, just hope.

Just absorbing a contract. Ariza is not someone a team actively desires at this point.
