I was sure that answer was going to be "whatever they're paying me to give a shit about."

    Which, I'm sure, is curling...

I haven't watched ESPN in so long, I'm not even sure what the cable number is. I do know that it's one of the single digits though.
The only time I watch ESPN is for college football and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a full hour of SportsCenter in this century.

They'd be killer with Boozer. I know Drew Gooden, and Drew Gooden is no Carlos Boozer.
That said, Boozer and his overgrown chest hair = Dead. To. Me.
(And all the rest of the Cleveland fanboy/losers out there)

More rumblings about the NBA re-seeding the playoffs eliminating the East West match-up. That would be brilliant. Then you'd get San Antonio v. Phoenix (I don't think those ratings were too hot) and if you get to the point where you are decreasing the likelihood of Eastern teams advancing (where most of the population is) the ratings will dip even more.
A sports talk host (ESPN I think) was saying that with the expansion of games on cable and the wider exposure most teams get (in addition to the increased number of cable channels and viewing options) finals will continue to see a ratings slide.
His point was that we now only care about our local teams (w. possible exception of Lakers, Boston and, and..) Free agency and leagues decision go for a quick money grab with interleague or conference play has diluted the "uniqueness" of a team from West Coast playing a team from the East. (different styles of play etc. Kobe v. Iverson)
You still get that in college football and to a lesser extent in college hoops. I think the pros might want to follow there example.

    Two things:

The Eastern Conference is shitty enough right now, the Cavs could be back plenty. It's essentially them, Miami and the Bulls on that side right now.

As far as Boozer, I'm not sure having him around would have helped. They have to like what Gooden gave them. Plus, they wouldn't have Anderson Varejao and likely not Larry Hughes because of the money they would have been paying Boozer. (Say what you will about his ability to get injured, the Cavaliers needed Hughes against the Nets and Pistons.)

Imagine if the Cavs signed Vinsanity to play along side LeBron. The possibilities.

And you know what really sucks about it? Stern MADE them leave the bench. And it's the first time he's EVER suspended someone for a playoff game for that.

But be sure and blame Stern for it.

You lost me here. Bulls grabbed six of those rings, the Rockets another two, Spurs and Pistons once. So who would the Cavs have beaten for those multiple rings? Remember, the physical Knicks and Reggie Miller Pacers were damn good teams during that time, and they never won one.

Cavaliers are going to have to get really, really creative to bring in anybody notable this offseason. They have a lot of contracts that will make it difficult to have any significant roster turnover. I got the following from USAToday.com:

    - Larry Hughes and Zydrunas Ilgauskas are signed through 2009-10.
    - Eric Snow, Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones are signed through 2008-09.
    - Ira Newble has a player option for 2007-08, and I can't see anybody who would give him more money than he's making now.
    - David Wesley is signed through 2007-08.
