No fucking way Barea is the starting PG if Kidd had left. The Mavs would've traded for a serviceable somebody long before that.

Kidd could've gone to New York for the bright lights, could've gone to Cleveland for the ring, or could've stayed in Dallas for the money. No surprise what he chose. It's always that way.

PD reports that that Cavs are now talking with Channing Frye. Oh, the excitement.

He fits, though. A big who can shoot with range will do well around Shaq and LeBron.

As far as the Wallace signing, it makes so much sense. I can't see how anybody can say it's a bad deal for the Celtics. No one thought the trio would quite mix as well as it did, and they won a championship off it, so I think anyone saying the chemistry is doomed is overexaggerating a bit. Davis is gone and Powe is an uncertainty at this point. Plus, with the shooting of Garnett and Wallace, the lanes just got bigger for Rondo, assuming he stays, and Pierce.

The Kidd deal I don't get at all, though he had a better season last year than I expected at his age and considering I thought he was on a steep decline.

I think the Celtics definitely passed the Magic if they weren't already ahead of them. That panic-induced Vinsanity trade looks worse every time another team in the East makes a move.

Sp0rtScribe, I think Powe got cut by the Celtics; at least, that's how they were talking about it on the radio the other day. He has a non-guaranteed contract and a serious knee injury, and probably won't be back until Fall 2010, I think.

Yeah, a healthy Celtics squad is much better than the Magic. Turkoglu was a stronger fit for their system than VC, and I would not have given up on Lee so fast either.

Oh, wow, is that right??? Well then the Wallace move makes even more sense. I thought Powe was a restricted free agent. And I had no idea that his injury cost him the upcoming season.

The C's declined to make Powe a qualifying offer, due to their belief he would not properly recover from injury, thus making him an unrestricted free agent.

Reportedly, Bibby verbally committed to a deal with the Hawks, three years for $18 mill, if I'm not mistaken.

Interesting backcourt dilemma with the Hawks: Bibby, Joe Johnson, Jamal Crawford, Maurice Evans. I imagine someone won't be very happy at all.

I imagine it's gonna be Mo Evans.

Pistons hire John Kuester as head coach. College record 82-117 (including one season of 1-27), most recently a head coach in 1989-90.
