Howard appeared to have at least two dimensions last nght.

The Magic killed the Lakers and Cavs with the pick and roll using Howard and Hedo with Hedo either (1) shooting; (2) dropping it to Howard on the roll or (3) kicking it to Lewis (who's man slid over to protect Howard). Lewis would then either have an open shot or could dump it in to Howard at the rim.

Neither Nelson or Carter is making the Celts respect the dribbler and they are staying on Lewis who cannot create his own shot. That's the difference that I see.

The Magic need to win 3 more but 2 are on their home court. So its better than usual.

Lewis is pretty stupid though, why when you are up by 6 do you double down on Davis who is being defended by Howard and you give Ray Allen a wide open 3? You'd think that professionals would at least know that much. Its Glen Davis v. Dwight Howard, you think Howard needs help?

Dear Second Thoughts: I have loved and watched basketball for a little more than 50 years. There's a perpetual floating pickup game at the courts in my town's recreational center area when there's no snow, and I can stop and watch that and be entertained. I've seen Earl Monroe in a Baker League North Philly gym, and Division II NCAA tourney triple overtime, and a bunch of other stuff. And the NBA always has been the best basketball one can watch. Not perfect, and the highest level deserves to be held to the highest standard, but to say you like basketball and don't like the NBA is an oxymoron. A cosmic oxymoron.

Yea. To like basketball, as long as its not at its highest level, is kinda dumb. Especially considering the huge gap between college and the pros now.

This is setting up for a Kobe jumper at the buzzer or with 1.3 seconds left to win it. Or Fisher.

How about the ovation for Frye when he finally hit a 3? Nice job, Phoenix fans!

The Lakers apparently have never seen a zone before.
