Doc Rivers as an elite coach? Doc Rivers compared to Phil Jackson, Pop, and Riley? Doc Rivers in a category of coaches that absolutely won't get fired?

    Two words:

    HA HA!

Yes, but Doc'll never get fired in Boston after winning the title. He will have to leave first.

You couldn't drop Stan Van Gundy is with a team of Pierce-Allen-Garnett. They'd roll their eyes and tune out. Couldn't put him with the Spurs.

But, with a young team, Van Gundy has proven he knows what to do. Each year, between Miami and Orlando, he has put up a better record than the year before - except for the "Riley Over The Shoulder Year".

I fully expect Van Gundy to be in Orlando for 2-3 more years before he gets fired. He might even win a title and then get the "Westhead", with Dwight Howard finally tiring of his voice and going to ownership. He will finish out his head coaching career with one, maybe two NBA other teams - probably with young talent but no Top 5 superstars...

Allen might be the best jump shooter I have ever seen. That includes Reggie Miller.

The Magic are letting this one get away early.

    Yup.

When you need to hit 10 three-pointers to win... going o-fer in the first quarter doesn't bode well.

Vince Carter just looks so bad. Nelson, though, is a very nice point guard.

It's not that dumping Hedo was a bad idea in itself. But there was so much history to tell you Carter would never help you when you needed help most.
Also, the Magic really aren't very good on defense. Howard's shot blocking is a gaudy distraction from that basic fact.
The Celtics are a better team.

Would it suprise anyone if Nate got so excited that he would just drop his pants and start wiggling his dick at sections 110-118?

    18 minutes into the game.

    Still no made threes...

    Ugh.

So in the pregame show, Magic Johnson said that Nate Robinson had to come up big for the Celtics. I went "what?" Robinson, to that point, had done perzactly nothing for the Celtics since they got him.
Thirteen first half points. Is it possible Magic knows more about basketball than me?

My Lawd, it's back up to 19!

This doesn't look good for Orlando.

Man, a couple weeks ago I thought I'd have to watch Vince Carter AND JJ Redick win a title this year. Glad I was way off on that one.
