As long as that one game is Thursday.

Home bench always plays well. Road bench always has a hard time hitting threes and getting energy points. Game 7 goes to the home team 80 percent of the time right? Lakers should win, especially with the way Pau Gasol plays at home.

All we need is for Jerry Buss to have a bunch of balloons hanging from the rafters, and for the USC band on hand to play "Happy Days Are Here Again."

I'm curious how many people will understand that reference.

    Now that is really funny.

  6. Star you can't be serious,

Rasheed's played very very well in this series. He's hit big shots, he's defended and rebounded well.

If you don't like him, you don't like him. But to suggest that he's played like a bum in this series tells me that either you haven't actually watched the series, or that you've watched and you just don't know the game

I'm sure all Laker fans get it and feel like throwing up when thinking about it. And maybe Brian Scalabrine will play the role of Don Nelson, while Phil sits Kobe the last five minutes after Kobe comes out with a leg injury.

    Floridanewb,

Wallace played well in Game 5. He was very poor in Game 6.
It would not surprise me if Sheed hit a bunch of big shots and thumped his chest a lot in Game 7. But 35 mins of solid defense on Gasol? Don't see it happening.

  9. And I agree with that assessment, DD

Wallace played poor in game 6, but so did everyone else. To point to his 0-7 is silly because he's the eighth man and no game at this point of the season should start or end with his performance.

Wallace has played very well this series doing what his role is, playing solid defense, providing a presence in the lane and knocking down three-point looks. It's a shame that some can't get past his reputation and see his actual contribution...And no, I don't expect him to play 35 solid minutes on Thursday....but then again, that hasn't been his role this season.

The key for GM 7 is that the Laker bench plays better, way better, at home and that's huge since the Laker starters are not 40 min. guys who can win the game themselves (not even Kobe.)

Gasol seemed to complain less, but it was probably because he did not have a 300 lb dude on him. Gasol can do whatever he wants with Davis/Garnett/Wallace.

Did anyone else have Kwame Brown flashbacks when watching Shelden Williams? The bad hands, the cluelessness, the missed dunks.

Van Gundy's been talking about how it's a first-quarter league and I'm definitely buying into that now. In this series the team with the lead after the first is 6-0. Especially if the Lakers can get up by like 8 early, the Celtics don't seem to have the firepower to come from too far behind, I think the momentum could really build for the Lakers. Allen's the guy that still terrifies me.

Sheed is shooting 4-for-17 from 3 during the Finals. I wouldn't consider that among the things he's doing "very well", newbie. That's just me, though.
