While a lot has been made about how the Heat didn't acquire its talent the "right" way, the way the Lakers acquired James Worthy was so egregious that the NBA put in the Stepien Rule to keep it from happening again. And they acquired the rights to draft Magic Johnson in a lopsided "compensation" trade for losing Gail Goodrich as a free agent to the Jazz . . . and even then, they had to win a coin flip to get the No. 1 pick. They were lucky the NBA helped engineer this lopsided "compensation" trade, they were lucky that the Jazz were the worst team in 1978-79, and they were lucky to win a coin flip.

The Spurs allegedly tanked to acquire the centerpiece of 4 championships. Is that the "right" way?

The 90s Bulls and Thunder acquired their centerpiece talent by watching the team preceding it in the draft squander its pick and hand them a superstar on a silver platter. Perfectly legitimate, of course. But not exactly the result of hard work, superior scouting or anything that could be classified as anything but dumb luck.

Having a hard time wrapping my head around why dumb luck and tanking is the "right" way to build a championship team. But having an organization good enough that a free agent simply chooses to play for it is the "wrong" way.

I stand corrected, thought the playoff loss to the Sixers was the conference finals not the second round. I did not really think the love for the Suns started until Steve Nash got there, cant recall Phoenix being especially embraced by Canadians prior to that.

You still never address any points that are made. This is quite funny

Pretty good piece from Gregggg on Wade's custody struggles and his outreach efforts to kids.

Tonight could be the night that LeBron James becomes an NBA champion, or fails at his best single chance: a home game with all the momentum.

I want acrimony and controversy, people. Lots of lulz.

If LeBron does win a Championship tonight, does Dan Gilbert jump off a bridge?

If he does I look forward to the suicide note written in Comic Sans.

I know there hasn't been a team come back from 3-1 but if it is ever going to happen I can see the Thunder doing it. I think Miami almost has to win tonight.

If he does, the suicide note will be written in Comic Sans.
