It's great to blow people out, and good for them . . . but James still has yet to show ANY consistency/bottom in terms of being able to wrestle away wins in tight games, in the closing moments.

    Meanwhile, Michael Jordan laughs.

LeBron averaged 30.3-9.7-5.6 during the playoffs this year. The third-best playoff averages of this career (08-09, 09-10). Of course, he didn't close out the Finals with a triple double in either of those years.

It's a shame LeBron didn't allow the series get to Game 7, then go for 45-15-14. Coulda been epic. What a choking dog.

He's the best player in the NBA. His team won a title in a year where one of the other two best players on the team was notably erratic and the other missed much of the playoffs with an injury. But of course it's not good enough. It's more fun to be a hater than to consider facts. I must point out that when it comes to overall level of argument quality, the ratings of sports threads on this board goes 1. Baseball. 2. Hockey. 3. Football. 4. All Other Sports But Basketball. Last. The NBA.

Put it this way... I could care less about the NBA (and I'm a huge college basketball nut), but the Thunder are a fun squad to watch. OKC will win a championship eventually, and it could be as soon as next season if the team makes the right moves.

I don't have disgust for Lebron... hey, I'm all right with him getting a championship... but by and large they still hate him in Cleveland and other places. I'm just glad he's finally realizing "yeah, maybe that Decision stuff was a little over the top"...

Bosh looks like he could have a strong Bukkake career if the basketball thing does not work out.

Question - does LeBron not do the chalk toss thing in Miami?

I have converted from LeBron hater, to LeBron accepter. I'm no fan, but at least he won with class. And I can respect that he is, without a doubt, the best player in the league right now. To the people who say he's not clutch or whatever - maybe not in the past, and in a sense, you're right - not this year either. But while in the past it may have cost him, the truth is that he didn't need to be this year, because by and large, he buried his opponents before the need ever arose.

The Decision was a thoughtless act of cruelty to Cleveland fans. James has had some horrific playoff games in his career. Those are facts, too. All I seek here is balance.
I would also submit that turning in one of the strongest individual games in NBA history in a road playoff game down 3-2 is about as clutch as it gets, no matter what the damn final score was. Honestly, it's like people still believe only the last two minutes of an NBA game matter.

Agreed. The Decision was just a debacle and he deserved all the hate he received for it. Personally, it annoyed me that he refused for so long to admit it was a shitshow. When he finally did, I moved on. And he definitely choked in the past during the playoffs, most notably against Boston and Dallas. He more than made up for it this year, though.

It was fun to watch. Dude took it to a different level. A more mature one (see, his apology for the "I wake up me, you wake up a loser" comment). And a more all-round dominant one. More Magic, less Michael. Clutch is defined so many ways. To me, he was about as clutch as you can get this year. Didn't hit any game-winners at the horn. Didn't have to.
