Atlanta really botched the end of that game.

  2. The call sucked for Atlanta, but they really blew it with that possession that started at around 30 seconds. No timeout, and they just looked completely clueless.

Lakers getting run over early. No shock in that with Kobe hurling all day (allegedly) and the passive approach they have taken since rolling in Game 1.

If by some chance, and I don't think it will happen but you never know, the Nuggets win game 7 and advance - is the Mike Brown experiment over after one year?

I don't think Jim Buss would want to admit that his first big decision as "the man" with the Lakers was a complete bust. For that reason alone, Brown gets another year at least. Also, who are you bringing in? The main free agent coach out there (with a few hands full of rings) probably isn't coming to the Lakers (again) any time soon. So what are you left with? Jeff Van Gundy? Stan Van Gundy? John Calipari?

It is not about a big name - it is about a guy who was a bad fit in the first place and if this thing goes up in smoke Saturday, it will be very tough for this guy to regain this team next year.

I already heard plenty when I took my little Dr. J to Indiana to watch the Sixers win there in April. I'm happy Philly beat the Bulls just because it allows my son to show his face at school, which is more than Omar Asik can do.

By the way, I'm shocked, shocked that Carlos Boozer came up small in a pressure game.

Yep, it's less about "a big name" and more about finding a coach with the credibility to get the most out of the Lakers' galaxy of rapidly aging egos. Pretty sure there's only one guy for that assignment and he doesn't seem interested.

That said, Brown was a terrible fit from the beginning. If the Lakers brass didn't recognize it when World Peace (of Shit) mocked Brown as a "video coordinator or whatever" and their best (sub-AARP) player openly laughed at the coach after getting benched for jacking up a bad 3, they get what they deserve.

No way is Mike Brown back if the Nuggets win.

Someone mentioned Calipari. I am shocked that Dolan hasn't written a blank check to him yet.

Dolan still thinks that said blank check will lure the Zen Master to the Garden.

And I'm not saying that Brown will deserve to come back or that next season won't be anything other than a repeat of this season. But the issue is the egos involved, particularly the person calling the shots (Jim Buss). He made the call to basically dump Phil Jackson and he made the call that Mike Brown was the right guy. Firing Brown after this season would be an admission that his first major move "in charge" of the team was a disaster after just one season. People who are trying to put their stamp on the team and come out from the shadow of their fathers don't do that.

Celtics storm back to take the lead. The Sixers are going to kick themselves if they let this one get away.
