Um, what? I think it's fair to critique him, but to say he hasn't accomplished anything significant is crazy or foolish. All-Star (eight times), scoring champ, all-defensive first team (four times), all-NBA first team (six times), MVP (three times), getting that Cavs team to the Finals, getting to the Finals twice with the Heat -- none of that is significant?

If Miami wins the title, are you gonna be one of those saying "WELL, HE'S ONLY ONE ONE TITLE!! LET ME KNOW WHEN HE GETS SIX!!"? I'm guessing yes.

Popularity contests. Has nothing to do with "team" or "winning titles." It does perpetuate his feeling of entitlement.

Ah, I'm just old school. I think you need to win a championship before they even put your name on the waiting list for "great." And when you've won "not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven" (which if he gets to "three" I'll be shocked) then he can be considered "great."

Of course. Because he said it himself.

Starting to think OKC should just start that smaller lineup with Durant at the 4, Sefalosha at the 3, Harden at the 2, and Perkins on the bench. Seems like nearly every game they start slow with the big lineup, but later turn it on after they go small ball. So why not just start with what works best?

Good point, Stoney. But maybe it's because if you start small, you might have to finish big because of foul trouble. Maybe Brooks figures by starting big he wears on the other team, even if the scoreboard doesn't show it, and then the small lineup can finish strong.

I don't see why we can't separate LeBron James on the basketball court from LeBron James in the media and LeBron James playing GM with his buddies.

That last version really screwed the first version if he doesn't win the title this year.

LBJ was 12-of-12 on FTs ... so, he's got that going for him. Good foul shooter, the Lama. Gunga galunga.

    This.

I didn't think the contact was that bad.

    SockPuppet's All-Not Great Team:

    F Charles Barkley
    F Karl Malone
    C Patrick Ewing
    G John Stockton
    G Steve Nash

Might be a little small and redundant in the backcourt, so maybe Chet Walker and Sidney Moncrief? Chris Mullin for some instant offense and Dikembe Mutombo for some swagger and to be sexed.

When do we play? I'm ready.

Yeah. Make room for Karl Malone and John Stockton, too. And it's a good thing Oscar Robertson and Jerry West won one title each near the ends of their careers. Otherwise they wouldn't have been great.
