In that case, I apologize. I presumed that was in response to me.

The issues with Westbrook playing more like a shooting guard than a point are legitimate--and I'm not sure if that's ever gonna change much--there's a certain court vision and distributor instinct that some guards just have and other don't. Doesn't necessarily mean he needs to change position, though, you play your guys where they're most effective--and with OKC's current roster, they're best with him starting at the one.

They have had a pretty shitty couple years together and have really struggled this post season.

Yeah, I actually wrote that before even seeing your post.

  4. Nope. Bad word choice on my part.

If Iverson had played with someone as good as Durant, would he put up numbers any different?

    Maybe.

Westbrook is not as good as Iverson. He reminds me of Monta Elis, a lights out scorer.

Westbrook for Rondo won't work. Rondo makes twice as much as Westbrook and the Celtics don't have any other contracts they can trade to even out the salaries (they only have five players under contract for next season -- Rondo, Pierce, Bradley, Johnson and Moore) unless they convince some of their free agents to agree to a sign-and-trade.

The Knicks, meanwhile, I don't think would actually make a trade with Miami and, if they did, I seriously doubt they'd get rid of Chandler. They absolutely need his interior presence. Nobody will take Amar'e's bad knees and Dolan will never give up Anthony. No chance the Knicks acquire Wade.

If Miami did decide to trade Wade, and I don't think they would, they would need to acquire at least one sizable expiring contract, since they're already $19m over the cap.

Without Chandler the Knicks would have been a lottery team this season. Pern is right, he makes them so much better.

Which is exactly why the Knicks might swing a trade like that, because they can't get out of their own way.

And that is why you throw it at them.

I didn't know there were woodsheds in Miami.

And this is why I still don't understand James. His team is getting its doors blown off, and instead of stepping forward and trying to take over at the end of the first quarter, he plays hot potato with the basketball. The Heat badly needed to match baskets there.

It's the first quarter. This game will come down to the wire, though I like the way OKC and especially Westbrook have come out. But lots of energy went into that quarter.
