I'm not following. Yes, I watched Lakers games galore. Kobe scored a lot; did all of the other stuff, too. No one in the world of basketball works harder, or has a psycho-killer yearning to win, than Kobe.

Right now, Steve Nash is the best player in the league, IMO. Intangibles.

Best passer, no way the best player.
I'm just saying, if you're gonna make your case, you gotta bring a better one than "Kobe scored a lot and did all the other stuff, but Nash is better because of intangibles". You said "other stuff" as if it was nothing :D . The fact, no one else in the league has to deal with that "other stuff".

Detroit is looking like last year's Detroit. They're not making their shots.

    It's true. They're bricking everything.

Chicago shot its wad in the 1st half. Detroit will be back in it by the 4th quarter.

Nash is more than a passer, and you know it, sweet boy :D

Agreed. DET will come back, IMO.

If Rasheed Wallace stayed in the post, the Pistons would be just as good as any team in the NBA.

For God's sake, this argument is starting to drive me mad! Kobe Bryant is one of the five best players in the NBA. So is Steve Nash. Some days Bryant is better than Nash. More days Nash is better than Bryant.
Either one of them will help your team win. At that level, the differences in ability are so minute as to not be worth discussion.
I'd like to tell this thread to shape up. It's not provided as much entertainment as its buddies over on the baseball thread because of Kobe obsession.

    Are you guys serious?

And Michael, that's what happens when there aren't NBA fans on this board. Almost everybody on this site is a baseball fan.

Steve Nash is not one of the five best players in the league.

He is not the best passer in the league.

If he were black, he'd be considered what he is -- an excellent player in the perfect system and on the perfect team for his talents. He is over rated mostly because he is seen as the great white hope.

Unfortunately, Kobe, LeBron, Garnett, Tim Duncan and Dwayne Wade (that's five) are all better players and there is not really much room for argument if you are objective about it. I could also make a very good case that Jason Kidd is a better point guard than Nash.

Gee, your first line makes me think of that SNL skit with Steve Buscemi ... the Alice in Wonderland skit. Funny funny funny.

    And Nash is better :D
