Malone, easily a better player than Duncan.

    No way.

    Absolutely, positively, no way.

Bulls have 42-20 rebounding edge heading into the 4th. (and a 20-point lead)
Hard to understand how the board edge could be that lopsided, and Pistons sweeping so far in series.

Fair enough. There isn't a right or wrong answer. I value team success more than you. I think in basketball in particular one great player can have a huge impact. I'm not talking about winning championships by yourself, but to be missing out on the playoffs completely? Some people are just winners. There isn't a way to measure it, and some people probably don't think such a thing exists, but I do, and I think Duncan has it. He's played with some very good players in SA, in a great system, with a great coach, but he's only played with one Hall of Famer, and his success hasn't dropped since he lost Robinson one bit. And at the same time, it's not ALL about winning. I don't think Robert Horry is better than Karl Malone because of the number of titles they have. But Duncan is an immensely talented player, and all things considered he has the team success that puts him over the edge.

If I was starting a team tomorrow I would take Duncan over Garnett.

I know what people think about him around here, but Simmons had a pretty good column about Duncan being the most underrated player of his generation last week.
