That's a good one, Gimpy. Very nice :)

Doc - The Bulls, IMO, could definitely make the Finals once they finish off the
Heat. They are hungry and the emergence of Deng has made them
that much stronger. They are legit. If they're mentally ready, they
could at least get to the title round.

Yeah, the Bulls are scary talented and are only going to get better thanks to the Knicks' draft pick. Though, I still would've kept Tyson Chandler over Ben Wallace. But, maybe having Wallace (even though his production is in decline) helped the Bulls mentally (having someone who's been through the wars) deal with the trials that lie ahead.

Wallace will help against the Pistons, for sure. Chandler has become a freakishly good rebounder, but Big Ben is still one tough guy

I've been dying to the Lakers to get Chandler for a couple of years now. I'd love a rebounder like that to play the 4 or 5 in L.A.

So, what do you think, Rok? As a Lakers fan, I'm a proponent of offering Odom, Bynum, Cook (or Ramdanovic) and multiple pick to Minnesota for Garnett or to whoever gets the No. 1 or 2 pick for Oden or Durant. I honestly think it's time to rebuild that so-called supporting cast.

That would make the Lakers roster:
    PG: Farmar
    SG: Bryant
    SF: Walton
    PF: Garnett
    C: K. Brown

Top reserves: Turiaf, Radmanovic (or Cook), Mo Evans and Vujacic, and whatever free agents they pick up

Do you think Minnesota would (should?) bite? If not, do you think that package is enough to get one of the top two picks? Just bouncin ideas out there.

Well my prediction is almost right: Dirk has 16 and 8 through the first half. (prediction 25 and 10)

when's the last time both NBA finalists were out before the second round?

I was thinking about that, too. MIA is gone. Still a ways to go for DAL, but that could be in the cards, too.

Gimpy - let me think about that a bit. Offhand, I think Chandler would fit in very well with LAL

    Circa 1998:

"Hey Stu . . .thanks for taking my call."

"Yeah, you're on Lakers line. What's up?"

"Well Stu . . wouldn't it be cool . . if we could trade um, Derek Fisher! and um . . .Robert Horry . . . for Karl Malone? It works under the salary cap!"

"Uh, I don't think the Jazz are gonna part with him anytime soon. But thanks for calling!"

    ;D

    Sorry . . . couldn't resist.

As for your trades: I can't see anyone giving up a chance for Oden or Durant, for anything. "For no money!" And Minnesota . . . . . I actually like that ove. I want to see how it all turns out for BYnum, and I have always liked Odom, but a major shakeup would be worth it to gt Ganett.

But McHale is an old Celtic. And like those dumbfucks the Maloofs ("Uh, we're not gonna help the Lakers, even though there was never a rivalry! Now let's eat Carl's jr. burgers with wine and dye our hair!"), he is quite reluctant to help the Lakers. And by keeping from making a major move to rebuild his team due to some old rivalry, he continues to cement his legacy as a crap GM.

Would love to see a garnett move. Imagine the hunger he woul arrive in LA with . . . . . . but this simply will not happen under current circumstances. Kupchak lacks vision, and McHale is an ass.

In other words, Phoenix will change uniforms again before the Lakers are able to pull off getting another dude with a nickname and a show contract.

Now, if they were able to pick up Chandler . . .that would be awesome.

Oh no! The MVPs are having trouble getting out of their first round matchups!!!!! This can't be!!! But I thought Stevie Nash was the greatest point guard eveer!!!? Why is he having trouble with a terrible LA team?????!!! And Dirchoke is having trouble with GS!!!! This can't be happenning!!!!!
    MVP!!!

Yeah, I don't think Detroit is going to beat them, and I'm a Pistons fan :D. Chicago is a helluva squad. Here's the scary thing, they actually have a good chance of winning it all. I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Tough tough team.

I think Chicago is still one year away.

    We'll see.

I'm split. I think they have enough to win it all, especially if they keep playing like they are now. But I think they might be a year away, as Simon is saying. It's going to be interesting.
