NBA Playoffs Thread

Just read the DAL-GS part of this thread. GS bandwagon offered up more premature ejaculation than a JV squad on prom night. Pretty funny.

 

For the record, while I am part of the Golden State bandwagon, I called the Mavs' win this afternoon.

 

Oz, you're a KC sports fan, you can do whatever the fuck you want. I still like your prediction of GS in six, even though I'm obviously hoping for Mavs in seven.

Not to dip into the cliche bin too casually, but this series really will come down to the mental game. Dallas is the better team; GS seems to have the edge in athleticism. Whichever side makes the best of their resources will win. Not exactly a sterling insight, but true nevertheless.

One of the few benefits of getting older is that sort of thing becomes more or less a non-issue. Instead, you're just hoping to clip along at full sail until you reach harbor.

Ahem, anyway, the only other thing I have to offer on DAL-GS is that Dirk's suckitude has overshadowed the fact that no other Mav has really played consistently above their usual game in this series. Terry, Stack and a few others have shone, but the Mavs need the depth of their roster to be a force if they want to pull off the unlikely and get past this series.

 

Hey, I'm with you on the first issue.

GS is playing hard as hell, and they have come together. It's just a bad matchup for the Mavs, IMO. No other team would be giving DAL this tough of a time, at least not so early in the playoffs.

ROK, just to ask, but do you enjoy making life miserable for this many people? You've been anti Mavs since the series started dude. But I'm guessing that if they win this series and then go on to win the whole thing you'll be pro Mavs like a mofo.

 

I'm just rooting like crazy for the underdog. I think I'm still anti-Mavs from last year's Finals or something.

 

Boy was I surprised by Dirk last night after they beat GS he finally showed up.
