NBA Playoffs Thread

  1. I agree on the Bynum-Kidd trade. I'm not sold on Bynum, but I don't gamble the future on a point guard who can't shoot and is past his prime.

Agreed. Now if it were to get someone like, say, Kevin Garnett, I would inquire about that trade.

Wasn't there a deal in the works where Baron Davis would have been traded to the Lakers? And if so, why didn't that trade happen? Seems like a dynamic player like that in the backcourt would have helped Kobe a lot.

I don't know if JKidd is really past his prime. He's averaging a triple double in the series right now.

He's not past his prime, but he's nearing the wrong half of his career. If the Lakers are gonna deal a chip like Bynum, it needs to be for a guy who's got at least 3-4 great seasons left in him.

I agree. I'm not sure how much longer Kidd has. I hope he plays for a long time, but I'm not sure if his body will hold up

Wow a guy who just had a 16 point, 16 board, 19 assist night is way past his prime? Go figure.

Kidd was exactly what the Lakers needed, someone who can a) Keep Kobe from handling the ball everytime down the floor and b) Get it to Kobe in situations where he can make high percentage shots.

Mind you I'm wondering how much help Kobe needed when the Lakers traded an All-Star center and an All-Star forward away because they were smothering him.
