Doesn't have to be Kidd. Point is, they need someone who can come in and make an impact right away. Could be KJ, could be Kidd, but the Lakers would have options using Bynum as a good bargaining chip.

Also, was there a deal that would have sent Baron Davis to the Lakers some time ago? Sports talk radio keeps talking about it today. Not sure what the story behind that is, first I ever heard about that came 24 hours ago.

I'm not sure about the Baron Davis deal, but the Lakers supposedly had a deal done for Mike Bibby early this year (that, according to Mark Stein, wouldn't have included Odom OR Bynum ... just expiring contracts and picks) but the Maloofs vetoed the G.M.'s deal because they couldn't stomach the fact they were improving the Lakers in the short run.

OK, my bad. I thought you were in the "It's got to be Kidd!!" camp. If it's someone a couple years younger, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. I've been saying it for weeks: The Lakers need to trade Bynum while he's still got as much value as he does. I'm a believer in his athletic ability, but not his heart.

Name one pure point guard who's succeeded in the triangle.
And, if Kidd can run the triangle so well, why was it such a disaster when he was actually IN IT in Dallas?

And, don't give me the whole "Phil wanted him so it definitely would've worked" argument. Phil doesn't make the roster decisions on this team. If he did the Lakers never would've DRAFTED Bynum. And, FYI, the Nets are the ones who approached the Lakers about the Kidd trade. It's the Lakers who said no. So, it wasn't like Jackson was saying "Go out and get me Kidd!!" ... it was more "If I have a choice, I'd rather have Kidd right now than Bynum." And, he's right. PRESENTLY, I'd rather have Kidd right now. But, when you're running a franchise, you also have to look down the road 2 or 3 seasons. You can get longer-term help than Kidd will provide.

Wow, knew that was coming. But what else do I expect. Let me ask you something, were you rooting for the Mavs last year? Or the Heat? It's pathetic, pick a fuckin team and stay with that team. I understand the whole underdog thing IF and ONLY IF you're consistent with it. Who are you going to root for now that the Spurs and Suns are into the semis? Surely the Spurs are the underdog. If you root for the Suns, then we'll know what we already know.

Going to be interesting to see if the Rockets can close the Jazz out on the road. I doubt it, but it should make a good appetizer for the Warriors and Mavs

Why would you give a flip who RokSki is rooting for? What difference can it possibly make?
