My buddy, who really isn't an NBA fan, noted that apparently LeBron James is the antichrist but it's great to see the nation is behind alleged or accused wife-beater (he didn't serve time) J Kidd. I always liked Kidd and am glad he won a title, but sometimes the media and fans seem to focus on some shit and overlook other stuff.

agree. and some stuff is in the past. but LeBron was called selfish and whatever else numerous times. negative shit said about Kidd, pretty much none.

Your NBA Finals trivia question of the night.

Which player was taken in the expansion draft by both the Heat and the Mavs, but never played a game for either team, the only person with that distinction? He was actually the Heat's first expansion draft pick.

    Answer:

Fulda, Minnesota, native Arvid Kramer. Arvid was a legend in Fulda, my parents' hometown, population 1,300. Six-foot-9 center, played D2 ball. The reasons he was drafted were bizarre but he was taken. Was also a third-round pick by the Jazz and my dad listened to a game on the radio when he scored like 12 points against Kareem and the Lakers.

Congratulations to you, long-suffering Mavericks fan. Enjoy this feeling for everything it's worth.

And, take a moment to share with me a trip down SportsJournalists.com memory lane.

The Lakers won titles in 2009 and 2010. The Mavericks just won in 2011.

    So, RokSki, wherever you are:

    How does that taste, jerk?

Yes it is hilarious to me that in a series involving a guy who was involved in incidents of beating his wife on more than one occassion - the guy most people painted as the villain was a guy whose sin was wanting to play on a better team

Does anyone know why Dirk went sprinting off the court before the game was over?

My assumption is that he really needed to pee, maybe poop, and had to hightail it to a bathroom.

He was back on the floor for the trophy and MVP presentations, so it wasn't some dire medical emergency or something.

The LeBron hate is not about him being a bad person off the court, its just because fundamentally it strikes to the core of every playground basketball game, where guys team up to make a "super" team. The sandbaggers at the 9yr old tryouts. Those who have ever played a waiting game have seen it, guys pick their buddies, they all come together and write their name together and say "we got next." Its distasteful.

I think "the Decision" struck fans much the same way.

As someone who has always championed the players' right to free agency, it got it, but hated the over the top show.

For that, I rooted for Dirk and the Mavs.

I see - so boston loading up with garnett and allen or shaq joining kobe is different than this how?

Man, what a graveyard thread. And if RAMBO does nothing else as a member of SJ, he should at least get the pasty-looking guy out of his avatar.

The main difference is they won.
