oh, so THAT'S the next move for lebron fanbois? to distance themselves from the comparisons? it's not about comparin them skill for skill; different sizes, styles, positions. the comparison is in the big picture; there was this race to find the next great thing, to solve: can some better than mj?

rightly or wrongly, it's the path lebron's been on from day 1. maybe now this helps james relax a bit, knowing will rarely ever be compared to mj again. if it helps him to lighten up a bit it should serve him well over time.

    Drew Magary, for the prosecution.

It is interesting and fun to compare. When Shockey mentioned James was 26, it got me thinking about how Jordan was in his late 20s (28) when he won his first NBA title. So I started comparing and noticed that in terms of playoff runs and winning MVPs, at age 26, LeBron James has had a better career than Michael Jordan at 26.

But Michael Jordan was not The Chosen One at 18 whose high school games were shown on ESPN. And Jordan never made The Decision.

I couldn't get through all that douche-baggery. I stopped with him missing the point of James' "They have to wake up in the morning" quote. I didn't take from that him suggesting his critics had sucky lives. I took it that, his critics had more important things to do in their lives than to worry about LeBron James' problems. And they would soon realize that because he was just going to keep doing what he's doing.

So I stopped there. Unless James was really saying that all his critics were losers and alcoholics, the way this writer makes it sound, then there's no reason to continue.

I'm not a fanboi. I could give a rat's ass about LeBron James. It turned my stomach listening to fanboyish questions from the media during the post-game presser.
I know there are many non-journalists on this site but the comparison thing is crazy, IMO.

In a slightly different direction, I'm not sure what stunned me more about LeBron's series:

    -- The way he disappeared
-- The way he disappeared after being called out by Stevenson.

IMO, the man was saying GET A LIFE. He's living out his.
He's not concerned about your world. Why are you concerned about his world?

And the more I think about it, the more I keep coming back to Mike Tyson's quote: "Everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

Boston punched him in the mouth last year. Dallas did it this year. He didn't seem to take it all that well.

Excellent point. Stevenson has no problem kicking ass. Simply put, he took LeBron's heart.

I recall that quote and it's oh so true.

That is his point and it is, in many ways, valid. He's going to continue to be the same player. It's not worth the energy it takes to spend your time hating him for it because it's not going to change anything. There's some arrogance in that, yes, but it's not the arrogance as presented by this writer.
