I wasn't necessarily expecting Dallas to win, but it would not be a shock to me either. They're good, they're deep and they have the size up front to match up with the Lakers. When you can start Tyson Chandler on Bynum and THEN come off the bench with Haywood, you're able to offset LA's biggest advantage. Of course, then there's the whole issue of Gasol having to try to guard Dirk, so now you have to play Odom if you want to do that.

If Memphis, Dallas, Atlanta and Miami win their series, does anyone say that the Heats' eventual title is tainted by a weak field?

Is the Bulls dynasty tainted by what was generally perceived to be a weak field ("No Celtics for this era's Lakers, no Bird for this era's Magic...")?

That was The Jordan, who must be exalted in all situations. This is LeBron, the exact opposite.

Dirk is a top-30 NBA player of all time. Never anybody like him with his size, shooting, dribble.

    No surprise and well-deserved.

I was surprised to see Durant finish 5th. Would have thought higher, probably second.

Bill Simmons is such a whiner. I dislike both Boston and Miami, but all the dude does is rant incessantly how good the Celtics are when they win and how Miami's fans suck when they lose. I actually agree about the Miami fans always showing up real late, but still... Simmons is a journalist, or at least comes off as one to the average sports fan. Grow a pair and accept that Boston is done this season.

(I made this mini-rant because of the crap he's been saying on Twitter this morning.)

Grizzlies look pretty ordinary when they ignore Zach Randolph and resort to Sam Young and Tony Allen jacking up long 2 pt jumpers (though Young and Conley hit some last night). Gasol needs to find some go to move instead of just being the high post passer.

Durant can make even Shane Battier look like just another guy; that takes some doing. I still think OKC goes down because Westbrook has too much Iverson and not enough Isaiah (who passed a bit more and shot later in the shot clock).

Simmons is not a journalist, nor does he pretend to be.

Would like to see the Mavs get another shot at the Heat in the Finals.

Maybe Cuban won't screw it up this time.

That said, as much as I've seen of the first two games, the Mavs might be ready.
