I did not watch the game, but if you coach and you have a lead like that you start doing math un your head like if your guys score eight points the rest of the way, they will need 23 to beat you. The only way a team scores 23 in five minutes is if you stop passing and start shooting fast, turn the ball over and pretty much stop playing defense.

A decent point guard can solve a lot of what I just listed.

Maynor and Westbrook never seem to be on the floor together.

A young Nash would be. What is he now, 37? By the time he got on the same page with the young players, he'd be finished and they'd still just be starting.

Doesn't Chris Paul have one more year left in his contract? There's your fit. I've seen many games where Paul is very good while taking maybe 10-12 shots and getting West and the rest going.

OKC is ready now, Nash for 1 or 2 years would be a perfect fit.

    They don't need another scorer.

They need a Mo Cheeks or a Dennis Johnson type of player.

Actually, if Wesbrook is your two, your point needs to be tall if you can pull that off.

Umm, how could they fit Paul under the cap? I seriously doubt they could sign him and keep Durant and Westbrook.

JC has an interesting thought with with Nash, though, it's not inconcievable that they might be able to snag Nash for some end of career bargain for his final year or two. And I'm damn sure Nash would immediately clear up a lot of those chemistry issues--the excessive turnovers, Durant failing to get the ball when he needs it, the directionless sets in the final seconds--all problems for which a Nash would be an ideal fix. The problem would obviously be defense with a 38 year old Nash as your PG, especially if he's teaming up in a small backcourt with Westbrook, but the offensive improvement would likely make up for the defense lost. He could be exactly the type of veteran steadying influence that talented but erratic crew needs.

You move Westbrook. He's a liability at point guard because of his decision making and he limits you at the two guard because now your point HAS to be big enough to guard a two (although, I must say, Eric Snow wasn't all that big at 6-3).

He can, however, make a bad team competitive because he's capable of carrying a team to wins. He'll also shoot you to a loss, which is frustrating for teams (like the Thunder) with more that just him has an option to carry the team. I really like the Beard's future as a go-to guy.

I agree if you were to bring in a Nash, you would not want to move Westbrook because you mortgage your future for the present. But Paul is young and can develop with the team. He makes Westbrook redundant.

Ha. So did I. Dirk is amazing, as is J. Kidd.

Good one brewing in Miami. Heat down most of the game, but started the fourth quarter on a run and now lead 70-69 with the momentum. Find the Derrick Rose dunk over Joel Anthony if you can. Mind-blowing.

Chicago looks gassed trying to keep that lead the first three quarters. Throwing the ball all over the place.

Their bigs are sucking wind. Asik got hurt at some point. I don't know why you don't give Kurt Thomas some minutes just to spell those guys, but I guess it's been too tight.

I was thinking the same thing about Kurt Thomas, maybe for three lousy minutes, but every moment is so precious at this point, when you get to the playoffs, that maybe you have to just go with your best guys and ask them to be great. That's it.

Why the heck do the Bulls insist on running an inbounds play when Rose is at the top of the key not being denied the inbound pass? Stupid!
