The Thunder and the Sharks should start their own resort where chokers reside.

And the Thunder meltdown is complete.

OK, in fairness, they've made a lot of progress in a few years: escaped from Seattle, made the playoffs for the first time in 2010, won a division title and two playoff series. Need 1-2 more players to become an elite team.

Would like to see Novitzki and the Mavs beat Miami in the Finals.

    Tale of two teams:

Mavericks get, what, three layups on plays with OKC was too lazy to get back off an inbound pass. Later in the game, Westbrook goes to call timeout and Terry does the let-me-try-to-strip-the-ball-before-you-call-timeout bit. Westbrook gets annoyed and pushes Terry, gets a technical foul.

One team fails to get back off inbounds passes. The other team plays hard all the way to the end of the play to the point where they are irritating. Guess which one wins in five?

Let's see if this serves as a lesson for OKC down the road.

    Escaped from Seattle?

I'm shocked you would like to see Novitzki win the title.

At this point, why are you shocked at anything this dude says? Seriously.

With the Lakers, Spurs, and somewhat the Mavs making a run for the old folks' home, the West will be the Thunder's to own for the next half-decade. That said, before they get there, they've got a good deal of growing up to do. Not sure if Scotty Brooks is the coach to foster it.

That Maynor iso in the closing minutes over Dirk was...unfortunate.

WTF was Maynor thinking, waving off Harden (and everyone else, for that matter) and deciding to go 1 on 1 with Dirk instead of simply giving the ball to Durant and getting the F out of the way?

Oh, that's right. I forgot that every NBA team wants its backup PG taking over the game in the final minute and taking the ball out of the hands of a first-team all-NBA scoring machine. ::)

    Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Would've loved to be a fly on the wall in the OKC locker room after that debacle.

How about doing something besides just giving the ball to your best player, or any player, and getting out of the way? The Jordan Bulls were the ultimate "cult of personality" team. But think about this. When Paxson hit his game winner, it was not Jordan driving, drawing and dishing. It was four passes. An inbound by MJ, then a pass back to Jordan in the backcourt, a long pass to Pippen, penetration and dish to Grant, then a pass out to the open Paxson.

With Kerr's shot the Bulls ran their triangle stuff and it was well defended. Stockton should have stayed at home. On "The Shot," the Bulls only had three seconds to run a play, but they did try to get something better than an iso off the inbounds.

Of all those great Bulls' final shots, only the last one, MJ over Bryan Russell, was truly just "Give it to Michael and get out of the way." And MJ had to push off to get that shot, ha.

Yet, these days, it seems like a lot of teams think you just give it to your best guy (or in the case of OKC, whoever gets the ball, ha) and spread the floor. Why not run something and try to get an easy basket? If you get down in the shot clock (or the game clock) you can always iso somebody. I HATE IT, when a team fails to run anything and goes right to the iso.

I saw a disturbing trend of this shit during March madness. How many awful, one-on-one shots were taken at the end of games? It was painful to watch.

Immensely pleased the Mavericks were able to finish it off in 5.

Unfortunately it looks like the 2006 rematch I didn't want to see because of the Big 3.

I guess I'll get to see how much the Mavs can play defense. Although, if I'm not mistaken the Mavs did well against the Heat in the regular season. Doesn't mean jack now, but it does give some hope.

I agree on all points, including the suspect late game strategy.
