4.4 left. Mavericks get it at half court, down two.

    Play for the tie here.

4.4 is bad for Dallas. No way Miami lets Dirk beat them, which means somebody else is going to have to make a shot.

And just like that game, the Larry Bird in this matchup has much better players around him.

And Miami wins as Dirk misses a contested 19-footer at the horn.

    Never mind.

Series over. Game 3 in a 1-1 Finals series goes to the team with home court advantage?

LeBron will celebrate in a week.

Credit to Haslem for good D. Dallas appeared to have no inclination to try for a winning three, and they forced Dirk into the longest possible 2-pointer, contested.

Yeah but at least he won't be finals MVP...

Mavs shot 15 more free throws.

I'd liked to have seen Dirk shoot instead of going to Terry with a minute left there.

The Game 3 when tied at 1 is also interesting because the same dominance for the victor doesn't hold true when it's 2-2 and you'd think the team that wins to go up 3-2 should have an even better chance of winning the series. But the 1988 Lakers, '94 Rockets and 2010 Lakers have all won after dropping the fifth game to fall behind 3-2.

Haslem's defense on Dirk? Much better than Bosh. Haslem has generally done a good job, although I must admit that Dirk abused him a few times down the stretch before the last shot.

Dallas has had much better ball movement in this series, but Miami's game winner came a on a good pass to the right man and Bosh knocked down the shot.

11 previous Finals since the 2-3-2 format started in 1985 was 1-1. The team winning Game 3 has won each time.
