Good game, mad. At least I made it more respectable this time.

Will RTA after doing recruiting tomorrow.

Great game, MM. I couldn't get anything going all game. Thankfully my defense decided to show up in the fourth quarter - along with my halfback. But that was about it given Meat's stout defense all game. He certainly changed things up since our last game and it took me a while to figure it out.

    Box to come

My goal in the fourth was to either score under a minute or hold onto the ball the entire quarter. I pretty much botched that plan as Meat had the ball with plenty of time, just enough time to run his normal offense and run out the clock (3:24 or so). But my defense came up huge on a pass deflection and stopping him on the run. I threw two pretty bad balls in the game with my new QB - he's got a bit more zip on the throw than my previous one and I have to watch out for that.
All in all a great defensive game.

You had to be hating life when you sent the tight end on a fly route for a unmolested touchdown pass that went over his head.

In hindsight, I wouldn't have gone for it on 4th and 1 at midfield on the first drive. But I remember how thoroughly you ripped apart my defense last time, and I thought if anything, my defense would be less experienced and talented this season.

Your picks didn't do that much damage -- one on 3rd and long, effectively becoming a punt, the other on the last play of the half.

I knew settling for FGs twice would hurt me at some point, because there was no way I was keeping you to 7 points.

That deflection on second and 9 of my last drive was the play of the game. I thought I had it, and if I did, I'd be able to small ball to set up a possible game-winning FG. Then my feast-or-faming ground game went famine at the wrong time, and I went conservative at the wrong time with a punt that effectively ended the game.

Far better game than last time, where it was pretty obvious you could have named your score.

    Will recruit tonight after work.

I was in awe when my TE (first year starter, but has a 'star' around him) didn't come down with that. It pretty much said, 'welp, gonna be one of those games'. My pass defense was a bit rough to start but I figured out what coverages to call based on downs and distances. I got real sick and tired of you beating me me on those 10-yard outs! I'd say 95% of the time on passes, I would take over at the last minute and pending how high the ball was in the air, go for the pick or swat.

I'm still trying to figure out my offense. I have a decent QB who can run and throw deep along with a new halfback who is pretty fast compared to my starter last year. Which, I have found to be troublesome due to me outrunning my blocks on off tackle and sweeps.

I probably won't be able to get to my game tonight, but I will do that and advance Thursday.

Plus, by the time Meat does his recruiting tonight, I'll have been asleep for awhile.

Whew. Survived a scare against the Aggies. I was in the driver's seat most of the game until midway through the third quarter. I should have been up 24-14 going into the half but my running back decided to fumble on the half yard line. The Aggies then decided to score 14 unanswered points putting me down 28-17 with about 1:30 left in the third - no thanks to my QB fumbling deep in their territory. Hill, TAMU's QB went nuts. Everything he did, I could not stop it. He'd scramble for five yards, three yards, then sprint for 15. I scored with about a minute left in the the third and somehow stopped TAMU. With one quarter left I milked the clock and scored with nine seconds left.

Since I have a bye week and I've been busy with work, I haven't kept up on our progress.

How we doing in terms of advancement?
