If nothing else, two immediate impacts:

Star revenue sports athletes Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU and a couple of others will do really well.

Hot female college athletes, regardless of whether they’re any good, will do really well.

I guess the Reggie Bush wanting his Heisman back discussion goes here as well as anywhere, since it is a result of the NIL decision. The Heisman Trust does something here that the NCAA should consider doing more often. They got out in front of the discussion. They've released a statement dropping the hot potato back in the NCAA's lap. They have a rule which states:

“In order that there will be no misunderstanding regarding the eligibility of a candidate, the recipient of the award must be a bona fide student of an accredited college or university including the United States Academies. The recipient must be in compliance with the bylaws defining an NCAA student athlete.”

When the NCAA announced that Bush was ineligible, the Heisman Trust pulled their trophies back and vacated that year's award. If the NCAA wants to go back and say retroactively that they have rescinded that ruling, the Trust says that Bush gets the award back. Personally, it was cheating at the time and he damn well knew it, so I don't have a lot of sympathy, but that's not my decision to make.

All it takes is one booster.
Know when this is really going to matter? In January (football) and April (basketball). Players will suggest they’re thinking about transferring. Suddenly their cost per hour of hangout time goes up. Boosters get together and pony up the cash in hopes of influencing the decision. The number of athletes here is small. Football and men’s basketball only. But worth watching.

Good for them. What’s wrong with them making money?

It’ll be a fascinating study in human behavior and how people get along.

The stars and the beautiful people will make some money. We can all support that!

Nothing. Just pointing out that there will be issues that will make schools squeamish.

Yay, now LSU can just pay athletes out in the open! The way they've been doing under the table for years!
