That would set a great precedent. You can cheat, just don't tell the kid.

But it wasn't like it was a real show; it was Ian Fitzdrunkenfratboy... am surprised he stopped talking about boobs and booze long enough...

Bryce Brown's dad just threw a cat across the room and doesn't know why.

This guy says the NCAA may ask Auburn to bench Newton, but doesn't cite a source on that (other than precedent):

That's a joke. If he's not suspended, by either the school or the NCAA, you have to keep playing the guy.

Sounds like Mr Brown left money on the table.

My thought on whole thing is that no one expected Newton to have the success that he had. 8 weeks ago he was not even on the radar. In Auburn pre season write ups there was little mention of Newton.
Newton is really a victim of his success.

Mizzou is 100% correct. UF has a history of cheating. Charley Pell would love Cam Newton's daddy.

There's a split in opinion on this. Folks in SEC country (aside from Auburn fans) think Newton should be suspended immediately. Outside that region, people are more willing to wait and see what the NCAA turns up.

The NCAA should be able to investigate these claims and make a quick ruling on his eligibility. I get so sick of hearing this kind of stuff and knowing it could be years before there is any resolution.

Shouldn't this have been dealt with back in January. Or June. Or whenever the NCAA knew about this?

I theory. But MSU delayed reporting problems until July because it had better things to do.

Don't worry. Even if Auburn goes all the way to the SEC and BCS championship games, I'm sure the league, the NCAA and the networks will hold all advertising revenue in escrow, then return it to the defrauded purchasers if it turns out those games never happened. That's what they did in the Reggie Bush case, right?
