Colonial Bank went down long ago. Lowder has been very quiet sine Jetgate with Bobby Petrino.

Not that long ago, Aug. 2009. Federal investigations sometimes take years.

McGregor lost nearly $20 million when Lowder's bank went under. And wasn't he on Colonial Bank's board at one point too?

    Oh yes he was.
And Colonial Bank went down well before the actual seizing.
McGregor has a large vested interest in Troy U, too. There is actually speculation the Trojans may be guilty by association!

As someone who is currently hip deep in a gigantic story that involves FBI wiretaps and allegations of major-league wrongdoing be prepared for some batshit insane rumors that will almost all prove to be totally true.

It will also be something that you'll devote every waking moment to and it still won't be enough time.

Good luck, and I'm available, just in case someone needs some help.

    A shit-ton of dot-connecting and theorizing here (from tigerdroppings.com):

Weird, I just got an e-mail with that same link and was about to post it. West Coastie you trying to win Escobar?

Not trying to win anything, JF...but there's actually enough stuff there, that if even if 20% of it's irrefutably true, All-barn's somewhere between SMU and Bama in the NCAA pimpslapping department. (I personally thought the contents of the posts were absolutely stunning in volume and detail)

Wow, what a story. Wiretaps, its all about wiretaps. I can still see the first wiretaps being set up in "The Wire."

Great moment from Mandel's SI mailbag. SEC fans at their finest:

    Stop hating on Cam Stewart!

I'm not sure to whom you're referring, Rock, but I have no issues with either Cam Stewart the hockey player or Cam Stewart the Canadian sportscaster.

Wonder how Cecil Newton arrived at the price of $180,000. Why not $200,000 or $160,000?

It was $200,000. But since Cecil liked Mullen, he offered a 10 percent discount.

And Milton McGregor is as slimy as they come. Lowder at least ran a business where he had to show (in theory) a semblance of accountability. But linking him to Newton is a major-league reach
