You guys are missing the point:

Can Pat Dye come back on Finebaum now?

If only the SEC had some sort of specific rule about such situations ... Oh, wait ...

That's an interesting point. And could be the loophole through which he's escaping.

I know Cecil asked for money but when did he agree to receive money? That's never been reported anywhere that I'm aware of. He asked State for cash and they refused, thus there was no agreement.

What's the under/over on Newton's bonus if he wins the Heisman? $20,000.00? which would make it a 1 year/200K contract

Since they did play one Thursday night game this season -- ironically enough, against Mississippi State -- and a Friday afternoon game last week against Alabama, it most certainly would teach 'em.

Sometimes when I see the NCAA make a terrible ruling in sports, I wish we could do more as journalists. I realize a lot of us got into the business to make a difference, get the news out about stuff like corruption. Instead, it just makes me mad.

I also feel like Dan Wetzel's head is going to explode sometime soon. He is essentially the check and balance on big time college athletics and even when he writes a killer story nothing happens. What ever happened to UCONN hoops? Are they even on probation. God dammit. God damn it all.

I understand a person with ties to the USA World Cup effort is reporting that Cam Newton's dad was a consultant to Qatar's WC bid. Not sure how true that rumor is, though. Might turn out Qatar itself didn't know he was soliciting on their behalf.
