Also: You can't shoot 17 percent and expect to be in the game.

Butler is tighter than a new prison inmate's ass.

Kato: Worse offense? This game, or the Minnesota Class 2A boys state semifinals.

I agree - Butler played its game (defensively) in the first half, and if they make any of those layups they have close to a double digit lead at the break.

Sucks that Butler, after everything they accomplished the last two seasons, which is all-time amazing, and after leading at halftime and by six early in the second half, is just going to go down in history as a goddamned laughingstock to the general public and basketball people alike. Just sucks.

So have any of you guys ever heard "Empire State of Mind" the way Alicia Keys intended? I don't think I have, and I feel kind of bad about it.

My buddy just called, he said his BAC is higher than Butler's shooting percentage.

I notice this occasionally when coaching.

Play the underdog role, and everyone's loosey-goosey, we're living on borrowed time, and adrenaline can carry you through. Start thinking you should win and things don't go quite right, and you tighten up really fast and start pressing and thinking "this isn't the way this was supposed to go." Butler looks like that team tonight.

From Twitter: If your blood alcohol was Butler's shooting percentage you could legally drive.

That Butler was in it for as long as it was is nothing short of miraculous.

No team that plays in back-to-back national championship games -- and comes within a fraction of an inch of winning one -- is ever a laughingstock. Especially if that team comes out of a low mid-major conference.

Nobody thinks of George Mason as a laughingstock, even though they were pretty well dominated. It's amazing that Butler has been able to stay in this game despite shooting so poorly.

Butler heating up now - 20 percent.
