I want brian griffin and company to remind us all how butler would never have an awful shooting night like those thugs from kentucky because they share the ball and are efficient and don't take bad shots.

There is nothing I enjoy more than the fact that briangriffin and others of his ilk have to suck on butlers 18 percent shooting - the worst ever in final four history - as well as their point total - one of the lowest ever and the fact that they scored 70 in regulation exactly one time in 12 tourney games, but yeah, that aint horseshit, muck it up and take the skill out of it basketball because they scored 80 a few times in the JV portion of their schedule LoL....

Ah, the "I told you so" portion of the show! I'm sure this will go well.

That was UGLY. Really good defense and even worse offense. Thought it would be low-scoring because both teams defend ball screens so well and both offenses use so many ball screens, but never thought it would be this bad. UConn's length really bothered Butler which baffled me a bit because I've seen Butler be effective against teams with as much, and more, length as UConn.

Kerr hit the nail on the head when he questioned Butler going to the zone in the second half. I didn't understand it either because if there was one thing that was going right for Butler, it was the man-to-man. UConn got a couple shots running those baseline sets for Lamb, but they were scoring about once every three trips, which is still good defense. It's just that Butler wasn't scoring in any trips. It wasn't a run, it was a trickle.

And Zag, you are so right. Tonight, Butler was exposed to be an abomination to basketball. Obviously Connecticut is the only team worthy of being called a real basketball team in college basketball, given that they are the one who beat Butler. That makes the rest of college basketball pond scum and Europe should just fall into the the Atlantic (while Kobe is visiting). Heck, UConn managed to break the clock over the course of two Final Four games, scoring a grand total of 109 points.

I think Jim Calhoun also lost your memo that defense is now outlawed. So he should be fired and the keys to college basketball should be handed to World Wide Wes and the Pump Brothers. Practice drills that emphasize overrated things like shooting and dribbling should be against the rules and replaced with endless pick-up games with new shoes and gear going to the winners along with money handshakes. Passes that aren't behind the back and don't lead to dunks will result in a technical foul.

We'll make you commissioner of all this.

Hey, I don't disagree with him, either. I too was sick of Butler. I'm afraid of seeing Matt Howard flop on charges in the lane in my sleep.

I'm just saying I expect it to make for some entertaining message board banter, that's all.

You should take over the BCS with that first part. Only the team that wins that title game is good, and everyone else sucks.

I don't mind defense. I appreciate great defense. The problem is - low scoring games don't always mean great defense and more importantly what teams like butler and pitt do - much like those ugly heat and knicks teams - do isn't defend, they mug and slug and know they can usually get away with it because the game is officiated so poorly these days. If I were commissioner, I'd do whay david stern did in 1999 after a decade of watchibg goon ball ruin his game for nearly a decade and pushed hard for the games to be officiated differently, well properly is more accurate and they started calling fouls again. Suddenly that shit was no longer effective and skilled players took over the game again and it became fun to watch again.

But my larger point is that teams sometimes miss shots and despite your best attempt to make it seem like AAU thugs miss shots because they take bad shots - well now your hero's just laid an 18 percent turd too
