Pittsburgh natives should know better. Not just because of the program's history, but because this particular team fell on its collective ass late in the season.

I know I'm a broken record in our discussion, but once again, you need to check your facts:

Fun Fact: Under Dixon, the Panthers have played to their seed only twice, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2004 and 2007 as a No. 3 and losing there to a No. 2. Every other time, they have been upset, with this year and a loss to 13 seed Bradley as a 5 seed in 2006 the most notable.

But they did make the Elite Eight in 2009 as a No. 1 seed. And lost to No. 3 seed Villanova.

  5. Agreed. they both did their best to blow it, Pitt was just better at it than was Butler

    I was one year off.

Go eat a quadruple cheeseburger while playing a shooter game.

The question after Butler-Pitt is why the hell was this a second-round game?

Butler is clearly better than an 8 seed. I know they had to go to the final seconds to beat ODU and now Pitt but don't all the good teams pull out wins when they need them?

I'm not on loving/hating Pitt bandwagon. They had a good season and it was going to either be a 1 or 2 seed. I don't think they choked down the stretch against Butler but this was more like an Elite 8 game.

Butler might have the best game coach in the nation.

Was a hell of a play they ran to get what looked like it would be the game-winner.

Piotr, it doesn't matter how far they went or what seed they have. Pitt inexplicably find ways to lose games that they should close out. I sold my stock on them when they were given the #1 seed. They're terrible when they play teams that don't play Pitt's style of Big East hoops. WVU, and Pitt are gone, and the next one will be either Cincy or UConn later tonight.

Agreed, though it is getting lost in the stupid fouls.

A big difference in the game is Butler being able to get that shot while Pitt got nothing on the previous possession. That has to fall at least a little bit on Dixon.
