I have to imagine what happened to Butler this year happens to a lot of teams that lose a lottery pick - slow start until they get their legs under them and adjust to their new roles, and then they take off. It just sucks for the team that catches them in the tournament, in this case Pitt, because the selection committee truly has to take the entire body of work into account.

Also, both of those fouls had to be called. Reading this thread, I'm getting flashbacks of the Calvin Johnson non-catch ridiculousness that went on here!

Does Pitt always play zone? Why did Dixon let Shelvin Mack keep shooting and shooting and shooting over it? They didn't even extend it to 24-25 feet until late in the first half. That's when they game was lost, when Pitt just let Butler rain 3s on their head for about 10-15 minutes in the opening half.

I don't think the second call gets made without the first.
After the first foul was called - which I 100 percent agreed with - that official under the basket was looking for a foul. He wasn't going to let something go when that first one was called, because that's a good way to get your name in the headlines - for not making a call. If you see a foul, call it, you can deal with your name in the headlines because it was the right call.
Both were fouls. If neither were called, no one would have said a word; they were both called and called correctly.

The last two weren't about the defenses called. One was a bad switch that got him against a post defender and the last one was just an amazing shot with Brown right on top of him.

Well, if the first foul isn't called there's no free-throw rebound opportunity. Either Pitt shoots and wins or misses and loses.

Umm, NO. Pitt was upset by Xavier in the 2d round last year.

Devil, you REALLY need to start doing google checks before you post, NOBODY on this site consistently flubs the factual details more often than you do.

Taylor, with two clutch FTs and a block shot on a would-be tying 3 with 2 seconds left redeems himself from an otherwise poor game. Wisconsin 1.1 away from winning.

Just turned the Badgers game on. Why was Reggie Miller talking about the great senior leadership of Jordan Taylor? Or is junior the new senior? And the point of missing a free throw on purpose when you're up 4? So the clock runs out? Huh? It was over either way but at least if you make it you don't have to worry about a four-point play from 90 feet.

Miller was terrible. After Wisconsin made like 8 3-pointers in a row in the first half to go up by 7 or 8, he goes "Ya know, I really think the difference recently has been Wisconsin's 3-point shooting."

    Ya think? Thanks for that.
