Despite being eliminated, ESPN will still devote half of its ACC championship game broadcast to talking about Bud.

As a former student at the University of Houston (aka "Cougar High" to the teasips), I am gratified at how the mighty have fallen.

Illinois QB Peters listed as doubtful. That explains the line dropping to -6.5 vs. Northwestern.

That total 40.5 Under is juicy.

My top play in early is Ohio St-Michigan over 51.

I stand corrected. Although the Hokies have no NCAA championships, they have been in the middle of the ACC in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings the past two years with an average national rank of 38.5 in those years. Nothing excellent but several teams that, say, Pittsburgh would like to have.

Uh, 2011-13, dude. That really is an amazing quote.
Only 16 losing seasons in their 113-year history and four of them have been in this decade.

Yep. They'll be wondering how Bud's getting ready for the Cheez-It Bowl. Because that, don't ya know, will be Saint Bud's Last Game.

And he'll be bringing that lunch pail. Surely, you've all heard about the lunch pail.

And then all of next year the narrative will be, "this new defensive coordinator has some big shoes to fill with the retirement of Bud Foster, the greatest defensive coordinator in the history of foreverdom. Sure, they got absolutely ass fucked in nearly every big game, but dammit, he carried a lunch pail and looked like a hard ass and these are our talking points."

I’ve only attended one Michigan-Ohio State game but it was memorable. On the field after the game, Charles Woodson strutted past me, nodding his head with a rose in his teeth

Right. I'm not claiming any greatness by any means, but there are some good signs, especially in baseball and men's basketball. Softball is traditionally very good as well and has made at least one WCWS appearance.

Also, y'all realize how much Tech fans are sick of hearing about the lunch pail too, right?

My issue isn't really with Tech fans -- a couple of whom are in my circle of friends. We have a decent banter during the year and it never gets personal, unlike some other schools in the region. My issue has always been with how ESPN markets this team and uses the same talking points over and over. It's really not much different than what they did with Penn State 20 years ago with JoePa/Tom Bradley's amazingness/"Linebacker U"/Happy Valley's awesomeness. And now we can't talk about Mike Leach without the whole pirate thing. And of course, one of my favorites, "Hey, you know Mike London was a cop, right?"

Arkansas hasn't been relevant in decades, it certainly doesn't qualify as a blueblood. Leach would be just fine there.

The streak question to Bronco did go on too long. But he could have just as easily said, "Hey, time to start a new streak," or something like that. Several of my other friends out here who knew Bronco when he was in Microland said the exact same thing.
