Not having a conference title game could really hurt K-State or Oklahoma State if there are multiple unbeatens or if they need a little push to go ahead of a one-loss LSU or Alabama team.

That's assuming LSU can keep themselves from looking past Alabama to the Nov. 12 game against Western Kentucky

WKU, feeling good about its first upset over a Louisiana power, THE University of Louisiana, will no doubt show up to Baton Rouge Nov. 12. That is all.

An undefeated Kansas State would almost surely make the BCS title game. Miami is a lot better non-con win than most powers have. And Boise's schedule is better than it's ever been (TCU, Air Force and San Diego State in conference is much better than its old WAC schedule. And Boise doesn't have to take four road games against "power" programs to prove itself. It's had more than enough such victories to make its bones.

Which proves why the BCS is a Big Crock o' Shit.

A one-loss SEC team could finish ahead of Boise, sure. But I doubt it could finish ahead of more than one BCS conference undefeateds, or even just one.

Better than it's ever been, maybe. But Georgia, TCU, Air Force and San Diego State doesn't exactly stack up against, let's say, Oregon at a neutral site, at West Virginia, at Alabama, Arkansas and either Georgia or South Carolina at a neutral site (not especially neutral in the case of the former).

Or, say, at Penn State, Arkansas, at Auburn, LSU and either Georgia or South Carolina, again at a neutral site.

Or ... well, you get the idea.
