Good game going on in Seattle. Arizona trying to find a way to get bowl-eligible (other than Arizona St., their schedule is much easier down the stretch and you can find three wins easily after this game). Waiting to see if this game ends with Ortege Jenkins flipping into the end zone.

It's a lot easier than it is if you're playing real football.

Hell, they still have the fourth quarter to play??

Just thought of this... A better analogy would be allowing goals scored in a hockey shootout to count in the season statistics.

He's been that dumb in the first minute of a game.

I'm not really touting a conspiracy theory. I just didn't agree with that call and it was crucial to Stanford winning the game.
I understand the rule and it is needed. I'm all for protecting players. Just my opinion, but that ball was still in play and receiver still had slight chance at the catch. The defender came at him and hit him. It's football. I saw almost the same thing in an earlier game and no call.

Wait, if there was one rule you could change, it would be a matter of scorekeeping?

Also, Luck only accounted for one touchdown in overtime against USC.

I didn't see the call earlier in the game, but the announcers seemed to think that the 3rd-and-6 play was a no-brainer. Musburger had a good point in that it was bad luck for the DB because the WR was in a different position when he hit him than he was when he aimed. You launch yourself like that, though, and hit someone in the head, it seems like it's almost automatic these days. Like I said, though, I didn't see the earlier play that you refer to.

This is true, but there's something to be said for a PSU offense that couldn't do anything for 57 minutes, then stares into the gun and goes 80 yards in the final three minutes.

On paper, it's a mighty weak 8-1, but the Nits are showing some strong intangibles.

On a broad basis, the Big Ten is awful. And that's giving the conference all the best of it.

By the time I'd spent most of Friday talking to the creatures that hang around the various books.....I'd pretty much decided to leave that one alone. Ended up doing reasonably well, in total. Didn't win a single parlay (should have stayed away from my alma mater, Western Michigan, amongst others...), but offset that with four larger plays on individual overs (Stanford-USC, Vandy-Arky, Northwestern-Indiana, etc). USC-Stanford was a mixed bag for me, as they made the over, but had 'SC +7.5 as the last game I had to hit, to win my biggest parlay. Final score: Got my "played money" back, drank a large number of beers & took the wifey out to a very nice dinner with the rest. Pretty much the perfect Vegas Saturday, for a hack like me!

Yeah, Penn State may be apologizing all the way to Pasadena. Sometimes, we make too much of what conference is better than what conference. It comes down to winning games.
