So I mentioned that I have a divorce lawyer in the family.

Happened to be talking to that person today ... and I asked, "What does 'petition for dismissal' mean in a divorce case?"

    The answer: "A reconciliation."

    Tee hee. ;D

Everywhere? There's nothing else it can mean? I don't present that as a challenge. I know you know your stuff.
I just want to be sure before we go and pop the champagne.

Not, slip us her address so we can all send cards!
(I promise I won't put shit or cherries in mine)

Did leave open the possibility that it could mean something else in some states, but in 30 years of practicing law in multiple states... has never known it to mean anything else.

Says "you see petitions for dismissal all the time after the holidays."

Interesting tidbit... In some states, a judge will dismiss a divorce case if the parties have as much as a "roll in the hay" because the judge sees that as a reconciliation. ... Says some judges require 2 rolls in the hay. ;D Of course, the parties can still divorce... but they have to file again.

That is great. Sometimes when you bet the house, you lose the house. Haha.

"Go Your Own Way" is playing in my head for wifeslut.

Even that song is too nice for her.
