    I tell young people who ask, if you really have a passion for it then do it as a hobby/side hustle. But find a better career.

    Try posting this on the Journalism Only board. There are people still in the business who look at that board but never touch this one.

    Better idea: Try calling reporters at your local newspapers. Their numbers/email are usually easy to find, you can be sure of their identity (and maybe even research them a bit before speaking with them so that you can ask better questions), and they may actually be able to help you get a job in your area some day if you make a good impression.

    Why bother coming here?
