Netflix: Greed is Good

    I think a common sense solution to the problem of piggybacking and piracy would be to sell the service as a set of licenses, as is done for certain softwares.

    One home with one ISP ? One license, no matter the number of devices.

    One home / one ISP, with two kids off at different colleges? 3 licenses, one for each ISP.

    And so forth. You could also offer standard / premium service levels based on the volume of streaming, rather than a flat per-month accounting.

    I get that, and we felt that way for a very long time. But honestly, between YouTube TV and Pluto, we've come out better for much less.

    We haven't seen the need for Netflix. And if I did have Netflix, was letting family share it and then we lost that, I wouldn't have Netflix anymore.

    Just like I don't believe my former paper deserves my 10 cents for what they offer online. So I don't pay it.
